The book drags on a bit. Spends a little too much  time
letting you think people are actually getting killed off And Then There Were None style
before getting to the real plot.
The little twist at the end (the ghost) feels very Goosebumps

The book was spooky at times, it definitely gave me goosebumps but after some point it wasn’t creepy at all. One of the worst books I’ve read, even though I read it in one sitting (just because I wanted to be done with it).

After it was revealed that the four friends were all part of the sick and twisted game that Brendan came up with, the book became so boring. Up until that point I thought it was decent. But after the appearance of the two kidnappers there wasn’t much action if I’m being honest. I think that’s when everything just flopped. It felt like the writer was just throwing in whatever idea he was coming up with and the ending felt rushed and disappointing too. I expected more spookiness from this, with lots of ghosts, more deaths and much more gore really, but after the middle of the book we didn’t get any of this.

I know this book is the first one in the Fear Street Relaunch series, but I won’t be continuing with the rest of the books. I was very disappointed by the end with this one.

Nonetheless this was an easy read, it only took me a couple of hours to finish.
