R.L. Stine

3.02 AVERAGE

Big oof! This book had so many chances to be good and each time Stine picked the lamest route. Just because this is written for a younger audience doesn't mean we need to insult them by writing a baaaad book. I only liked one character and she was only in the beginning and end. Instead we're stuck with a bunch of characters I would have been happy to see die. No one is likeable and the birthday boy needs therapy, a lot of it. He has zero empathy. And he still gets the girl?! Yuck. They also sent her right back to school and work after her ordeal, what the heck?! To summarize: a whole lot of nothing happens in 6 hours of story. Not worth the time.

DID NOT FINISH

It was so boring. I dnfd at 81%.

I read this book when I was in high school. It was okay and enjoyable to read. My first horror/thriller/mystery book honestly and I was a bit disappointed not to find it as scary as I thought it would be. However, the story is still good, the plot.
