Korean thrillers are definitely gonna be my new obsession. This book..was crazy. The way the main character slowly becomes more unhinged as he discovers the full truth was so chilling. He went from denying the fact that he would ever kill someone to fully accepting that he would and even being satisfied with this.
I was really hoping he would get caught at the end, but as soon as his brother took the razor from him, I already knew what was gonna happen.
I think the author did an amazing job of showing how fucked up the main character truly is and how we, as the reader, can’t trust what he believes or perhaps, wants to believe.

I loved this book. Not quite 5 stars but the most solid 4 stars. It keeps moving and at no point was I like ugh why is this character doing this. Like no one was dumb which can be hard in a book where the point is to normally know certain things and keep going between the past and present. I liked that as the book kept going and Yu-Jin remembered more, he came to terms with who he was more, and got worse and worse, like as the pills continued to wear off. You knew that he had to be the one to kill his mom and then that he was the one who maybe killed his brother and dad, but I still thoroughly enjoyed him finding out/remembering everything that happened. At first he said he only grabbed the slingshot from his brother but then I think it came back to him that yes he did do what his mom said. Like once he could come to terms with who he was, what he did to Hae-Min to protect himself, etc, he could allow himself to remember what he did to his brother and his lack of remorse over it. Really good. I just loved that not once was I like “ugh come on, really?” Or “omg how are you so dumb, you’ve gotta know what’s going on”. Really bad guy too lol. He’s going to be so much worse in the future.
