Amanda Lovelace again does a fabulous job narrating her own audiobook for shine your icy crown, the second of the “you are your own fairy tale” trilogy. I didn’t like these poems quite as well as the first installment in the series, but they were still good poetry with important lessons. The music in the background ties in with the fairy tale theme. I’m looking forward to the final installment in the trilogy!

The message of this book is really lovely: be your own woman (person), don’t listen to society, you don’t need to rely on anyone to be fulfilled… but as far as the words, the lyrics, the poetry itself… it felt more like someone just writing down deeply aesthetic sounding words and inserting line breaks. This might be good for girls who are in their growing up years, but wasn’t my cup of tea.
