This book didn't really do it for me for some reason, but I thought the writing was well done, enough so that I would read more from the author.

I first came across this gem of a book while searching for Richard Laymon Kindle books. Normally, I find that a dirty trick, but, well, the cover art really grabbed me, not to mention the cool title. So, I purchased the book. What a great read it turned out to be! Some really bad decisions were made by the grown up characters, which can be really annoying, but honestly, that made me think perhaps that is why the book comes up on a Laymon search? Pyle's characters were entertaining, and he really let us get to know the bad guy and actually feel some empathy, which, in my opinion, is one of the greatest things horror writers can do! This reads like both a slasher novel and a thriller. A bit heavy on the gore, for those sensitive to such things. If you can handle a bit of the visceral stuff, I highly recommend reading this for a quick, fun ride through this twisted killer's world!

INCREDIBLE. Up there with Bentley Little. Gritty, raw, powerful. I loved this book. I see some people didn't like the ending. Probably because it was too real, which is why I personally thought it was perfect!

EDIT: So I was going through my book list, weeding through some of them and I needed to add something, the more I think about this book the more stars I want to give this book. Just needed to add that.

Totally creeped me out, but I hate stories where kids are in danger! All in all it was a really good story, well told
