It’s an interesting read and I enjoyed reading this one since I can relate to Kara in so many ways. and the whole mystery thing was really captivating. I must say it’s a page-turner.
The suspense was great for a young adult book—something that anchors you into the book, and a saving grace of sorts from the lackluster beginning. Kara is relatable. Her romance with the main love interest is quite. . . lackluster, too. You can feel it at times. It tries to reel you in, but it ends up being too forced. Sometimes you wonder: do I really like them together or is it because he's the main character?
It's not a bad book. I might even re-read a few chapters in the far future. But it's not really one of my favorites.

This book was a fun, easy read - just like most of the teen fiction I've read. This and the other YA books I've read are so much lighter and much less serious than 'grown-up' books, even when the topics and focus of the stories are pretty serious themselves.
Kara's story brought me back to high school, when EVERYTHING was a big deal. How friendships could start and end for the silliest reasons.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who just wants to zone out and not think too much.

First of all thank you for this copy which I received via NetGalley. I saw this while I was browsing the website and I think it was a good book. The book itself looks plain simple but the content of it is something more.
The book itself has a simple story, high school life who thinks of the future, college, universities and so on. Kara (the main character) thinks she should always be perfect in the eyes of her parents, friends and teachers. To her perfection will do you good but then some thing happened to her during her swimming practice, she's been allergic to pool water ever since that day and she didn't tell it to her friends, aside from that she keeps having panic attacks when she's attempting to take her SATs. To solve that, she became part of the group of teens who do the underground drugs, she never imagined that she'll become a pawn until somebody tried to blackmail her. She and her new friends found a way to solve the mystery and Kara didn't expect the drug dealer is someone close to her.
I think the lesson I got from this book is that, don't try to be perfect because nobody is. It was okay to make mistakes and it is better to be yourself for you to gain true friends. It is harder to be with people who only see your outer side not the inner ones so I guess, Kara really made big mistake when she didn't even try to explain her situation to her friends and parents.
This book also applies to the society we have nowadays, we don't know who suffers the same thing to Kara but I guess this book will help the readers to be aware of what can happen to a person. Maybe teens nowadays must be more open to their parents because they know what to do, if not a trusted councilor will help.

Definite improvement in the writing from the previous book.
Plot was interesting, would have wanted more of Alex's secret and see it in action.
I like the cover.

It was. VERY slow to get into at first, and I solved the mystery before it was announced in the book, but I enjoyed the book more than I thought I would based on the first few chapters. It ended up being really good. However, I did not like the ending. It felt rushed and wrapped everything up within a paragraph. I felt the characters deserved more than that... Better than expected, but not the best book I've ever read.
This was a very juvenile book and I didn't enjoy it at all. It was kinda ridiculous, Kara was pretty annoying and I didn't find myself wanting to read more. The only reason I read it over two days was that I had to revise for an exam and also because I wanted the book to be over.
