I loved seeing the beginnings of this world where it all begins with Sera meeting Nyktos. I am desperately waiting for the "AHA!" moment when they realize they are in love with each other but no one does a slow burn quite like Jennifer Armentrout. I am very excited to see how the story unfolds and ties even more into Poppy and Casteel's world. 

So many parallels are developed between Poppy and Sera, and it makes me want to know more of Sera's story. I NEED TO KNOW MORE! 

I feel like the world-building and the lore in this series is so much more complex, I am glad that I didn't start off reading this story. I am enjoying the back and fourth between history and present time with the way I am reading the series.  (03/2024)

I really really enjoyed this, however it lost a full half star for a Nylon washing line. I can excuses a lot of things, but not trademarked plastics in a pre-industrial world.
