I felt the ending was wrapped up too neatly and quickly, the story definitely could have used more time to have the characters really sit down and work through their problems face-to-face rather than through a bunch of unsent emails. That being said, I really enjoyed looking into the different perspectives of romantic love the characters have in this book. Romantic love will look different for different couples, and everyone's perception of such love will differ greatly based on the experiences they had and the times they lived in. I appreciated the sort of reflection and development the main character Lauren has throughout this book with respect to her idea of what romantic love and marriage should be.

I'm not sure what I expected with this one, but I'm not surprised I loved it. This is my 3rd TJR book, and I know I will read even more. I love the way this story was written, and how it came together at the end. I appreciate that this was about a married couple. Even though I am not married, I am in a long term committed relationship, and sometimes I like something more than just falling in love. This was a great story about two people making things work no matter what. While some parts were hard for me to grasp (I can't imagine I would ever be okay with taking a year long separation), this was good to recognize that every relationship and marriage isn't the same.
