Enzo, the dog, tells such a touching, wonderful story of his own Denny (a race car driver) and his experience of losing his wife and fight her parents for the custody of his daughter. Funny, tender, sad, magical!

I recently re-read this novel for a book club. What a great book! It is a total tear-jerker, but the emotional investment is well worth it. Through Enzo's eyes, you grow to love Denny and Zoe, and you can't help but ponder about your life, and how 'your car goes where your eyes go. -- Lindsay A.

Nearing the end of Enzo's dog life, Enzo recalls his past with the family he has grown up with and all the experiences he has had with Denny Swift, his master, including death, evil, pain. In between and despite all of that, Enzo finds that there is still good in the world and looks forward to his next life, as a human. A story that only a dog could tell.

I am able to completely ignore some of the heavy handed moments in this book because of the way that Enzo, as a narrator and character, entered my heart. I cried profusely, more than once.

Heart wrenching but beautiful all at the same time. One of the best books I've read in quite a while.

Heartfelt and inspiring! Loved it!

After the first chapter I knew that this book would have me crying… and here I am reading the end with bleeding mascara

Such a pure and touching book. It's heartwarming, heart-wrenching, funny, and frustrating all in one. It's a simple concept taken to such a profound level that leaves you thinking about your own purpose in life (and what your pets are actually thinking). If you're a dog lover, this is definitely for you.

Original concept. I loved it and was moved throughout but especially at the end. :)
