This is book 2. You HAVE to read Rebel Heir first. This one picks up almost mid sentence where Rebel Heir ended. There really isn't much that can be said without spoilers. We finally get closure for Gia and Rush. Although I didn't really like the turn the story line took (gross)I did like how Rush's character evolved and matured. They are quite the couple. Great read.

After that cliff hanger...... we jump straight back into where we left off. And it all boils down to whether Rush can deal with Gia’s dilemma, because let’s face it, not many could.

There is not much I can say about this second book of the duet without giving away too much. If you have read the first, you definitely need to read the second half. I was desperate to know how their story was going to reach a HEA, and I’m happy with the result. I felt it did drag out a bit there for a while, but I fully appreciated that problems like these two had needed to be completely thought through so once a decision is made, Rush could stick by it.

I envy anyone who is starting out to read this duet now, as you get the privilege of jumping straight into this second book without a huge book hangover the rest of us had. You will still gasp at the ending of book one, but can ease your pain by picking up book two at once. Highly recommend you read this series.

* I am grateful for the copy provided by the author for my honest opinion.

Was so excited to read this as soon as I finished the first book in this series. I love Rush and Gia, there is so much passion and love in their relationship. Rush is just amazing, he really never deserved all the crap his father and brother but him through. He is overall a great guy, specially when he bought Gia the ugly doll in this book. This book was a good fit for this series, it showed that there are hard times in a relationship. The drama was definitely needed in this series lol. It made me so mad when Gia and Rush were "together" but not really together. I never wanted to put this book down, just because I wanted to see them together and happy. I also really enjoyed that there wasn't a ton of sex in this book. Even though sex in romance novels is always needed, in order to see the chemistry and steaminess of the couple, but we already got that in the first book. Like I said before second books in a duo or series should be about not only their love for each other but also the drama and hardships in their relationship.

Book two only read because book one was a cliffhanger to be honest. Rush is a shitty character tbh, he's a narcissistic dick who only thinks of how things will impact him and it gets really old as you read through both novels. Gia deserves better, I said it.
challenging emotional sad tense slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I wish I could rate this one higher. But it dragged on for so long with the characters both waffling on their feelings and actions. It drove me crazy. I felt the FMC forgave to willingly and easily and the mmc was a drama Queen. There was a HEA in the end though it wasn’t the best resolution I felt.

So.... Rush. Let's just talk about what an amazing character he is. He is flawed, he admits it and tries to be better. He's been handed an interesting deal in life but doesn't let that hold him back. I am going to keep this review short and sweet because I don't want to give anything away. I can honestly say that this book was not what I was expecting. I mean, we know where the cliffy ends up.... but I loved really reading and focusing on the relationship between Gia and Rush. I was completely happy with how this whole story wrapped up!
emotional funny

What a bang for the second book in this duet. It had me emotional through out as Rush and Gia try to figure out how to move on after the earth shattering ending of Rebel Heir. I love how Gia did not push Rush but I love how she was fighting for him as much as she could. While I was annoyed with Rush and his reactions, I honestly couldn’t blame him. Especially with how he was treated growing up. But their connection. Oh my stars. That connection that these two share is just beautiful and brings such emotions out! I adored how Rush was fighting his internal battles but still so protective of Gia.
Overall, this is one epic duet by Ward and Keeland. I was completely wrapped up in the world they created as always. The fluidity and the character build was amazing and I love how it all played out. What’s family without a little drama? Okay a lot! But it was worth it to fight those hurdles for these two. Their bond was that strong. I have to say that this is one of my favorite stories by them. I could not put down this one just like the first and it swallowed me whole as I was consumed by everything that is Rush. Pick up this duet. It is by far epic and no words can compare!

Both MCs kept repeating the exact same thing during the whole book.
Honestly no need for a duet it could have been just one book ... and a short one !
