Please, please, please translate the next book! I loved this one and need to know what happens next. I enjoyed the main and secondary characters so much!

This had such high ratings ... but it just wasn't capturing my interest. After glancing at reviews and seeing that it ends on a cliffhanger with the sequels not available (in English anyway) I decided it just stop. DNF at 50% through.
I borrowed the book in KindleUnlimited. Text and audio. Amy McFadden is the narrator. She's good -I really liked her the first time I heard her, but then, she (and all her voices) sound the same, so much so that my mind mixes up the different stories! So that was one strike. Also, the "screams" ... I know it's a bit of a catch-22 for narrators. To actually scream (as was done here) grated on me, yet to say "she screamed" and continue with normal narration can also come off wrong.
I like vampires, but the story here was just okay for me. And while I realize that authors will try to vary words when possible to avoid repetition, Samantha constantly referring to Phoenix as "my boss" just annoyed me. I checked, it was there 238 times. Now ... "Phoenix" was in there 696 times (gotta love search options with Kindle) but his name didn't bug me the way "my boss" did.
I was able to stop and not feel the slightest urge to know what else was going to happen ...

Notes:
Well, that was interesting. I'm not sure how much of the story being a bit off was due to translation or being true to the story that had been written.
An interesting start to a PNR but the ending made me roll my eyes too much. A literal cliffhanger. =P

Samantha Watkins: ordinary life gone haywire!
This is translated from French. I wonder if they make changes to place names to make it more English? I enjoyed the story. I got my required laughs, had mystery, excitement and some romance. The book clearly has a sequel, I hope it gets translated, too!
