I read this immediately after watching the show which had just released on Amazon Prime. I expected the book and the show to be nothing alike but WOW. The differences blew my mind. I absolutely enjoyed the book, well, for the most part that is.

I was really annoyed with Heather for a large portion of the novel. She overthought things so much and I really didn't like that. I love Dodge so much. He's just a slightly broken boy who needs the biggest hug in the world. He deserves nothing but the best. I couldn't not love him, if that makes sense.

The story being told from both of their perspectives was so well written. I loved having that vantage point. Plus the little parts where it was strictly the narrator talking *chef's kiss*. It gave the novel so much depth.

the show was a million times better

Quick fast paced read that kept me on my toes.

Every summer, Panic is a challenge for the seniors of Carp New York. Many choose not to participate. Some that do will get hurt, sometimes killed. Panic is a game of fear and proving yourself. To sweeten the pot - this year's prize is $67,000 to the winner.

Heather never thought she would enter, but when she sees her ex-boyfriend with a new girl, she enters in the first challenge - jumping off a cliff. Her best friend Bishop warns her and wants her to drop out, but she is stubborn.

Dodge competes in Panic purely out of revenge. His sister was paralyzed several years prior and to get even he wants to hurt the brother of the boy who caused his sister's accident. Dodge, a loner in high school, allies himself with Heather and her friend Nat early on.

I am a fan of Lauren Olivier's Before I Fall, and I'm glad I picked this book up. Olivier brings a whole new twist to the idea of senior prank. I found this to be very fast-paced, lots of anticipation before and during each challenge, great concept.

The thing that attracted me most to this book was the plot and the premise sounded really interesting. I accidentally read ahead and found out who one of the judges were and I wish I didn't. I wonder if I would have picked up on it if I didn't read ahead. I found Dodge to be a little unlikeable just because I thought the whole revenge plot point was stupid and he took it way too far.
I wished we didn't get an epilogue either. I would have preferred if the story just kept on going for a few more chapters so everything could have been resolved. I thought there could have been more challenges as well.
Even we all of this into consideration, I still enjoyed reading the book and I've really liked a lot of Lauren Oliver's so far.

I got this book, bc I loved the series that just came out on Amazon Prime. This is nothing like the show and is terrible.

I'm always a book over the movie / show girl, but not this time. Show was definitely better and don't really recommend this book.

I read this as if I were watching a movie the whole time. Exciting and interesting.

Interesting read. Panic is a game I wouldn't join.

Loved this book, it just hit home. I loved Heather’s character development. Wish Dodge has a final chapter. Other than that I will definitely will be reading more of Lauren Oliver in the future.
