I loved this one. LOVED it.

This was a cute book. I think I love books where there’s a loving, kind and understanding MMC and a distressed FMC.

Stella Lane is autistic and works as an economist and thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe and comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases. She hires Michael, an escort, to teach her how to have sex… which doesn’t really happen because Stella has had previous trauma with guys just having sex with her and then leaving. It has never felt good for her. She later asks Michael to teach her how to b in a relationship.

There’s a super cute scene of Michael taking her out and they get ice cream and Michael asks for a bite by making out with her. It’s so steamy. It turns out Michael is a tailor and works at his mom’s dry cleaner and alternations shop. She has cancer and he’s escorting to help her pay her bills.

Stella is in love with Michael and Michael is catching feelings for Stella. Michael understands Stella and her autism doesn’t bother him.

Michael makes Stella a beautiful dress for a benefit dinner held by Stella’s mom. It has no seams on the inside to bother Stella. It was very thoughtful. During this dinner, Michael realizes how well Stella talks to her coworker, Phillip, who also (now) likes Stella - mostly because of the confidence she has gained after being with Michael. It turns out, Phillip’s mom was one of Michael’s old clients and bought him the car he drives around. It’s announced that Michael has had sex with Phillips mom. Michael is embarrassed and feels like he’s not worthy. Stella is rich and smart. He feels like a prostitute with a con artist for a dad and feels like Stella is better off with Phillip. Michael leaves the benefit dinner and moves out and Stella is left to move on without him.

The book ends with Stella creating a foundation to help families without health insurance pay for their medical bill (which Michael and his family can benefit from the program). Michael starts his own clothing line with his cousin/best friend. He sees Stella and Phillip on a date and sees Phillip trying to kiss Stella and then comes over and punches Phillip in the face because Stella said no to the kiss and he still kept pushing. Michael trying to get Stella back but she says no to a date because she doesn’t want to be dated out of pity. Michael pursues her full heartedly. Stella finally agrees and Michael tells her he loves her and will propose to her a few months later.

Michael is now a designer and starts his own clothing line and is super successful with Stellas help.
