DNF.
Nope, Just No.
I didn't even get through the first part. There are some good Things in it, and Julie Holland is clearly also upset with Sexism, specially in medicine. But.. this book is still reproducing a Lot of sexism, eating disorders and its also trying to sell you pills?
Also, we are talking about the two genders and their very specific brain chemistry. As in: men aggressive and strong and women emotional and caretakers.
Probably it Just hasn't aged Well and was Just really far from my expectations, and thats why I am upset with it.
Additionally, the quoting of the science referred to is Not existing. You can find a list with papers, Pages, Interviews at the end the book For each chapter, however, No source and study mentioned is directly cited.

With such a great title, I was hoping for big things from this book. But it ended up a big disappointment. The science within is presented from the "women are this way, men are that way" due to hormones school of thought; reading such unqualified absolutes makes me seethe, both for the bad science and for the inaccurate and damagingly sexist underlying message that biology is destiny. Had to finally pick up and start reading my copy of Cornelia Fine's [b:Delusions of Gender: How Our Minds, Society, and Neurosexism Create Difference|8031168|Delusions of Gender How Our Minds, Society, and Neurosexism Create Difference|Cordelia Fine|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1348833681s/8031168.jpg|12635310] to get a more intelligent approach to the issue of sex/brain differences.
