I deduct 0.5 a star because realistically, all these kids should've died in that fucking plane, and then this whole situation would've been avoided. Also, there's no women or girls, and I can't tell if that's a good or bad thing. I got an 85 on my paper about this book. I should've gotten a 90, but apparently, my evidence wasn't enough. Fuck you, Golding. -0.5 stars for you.

If you're wondering about any specifics, during one of the campfire scenes, there is a boy who rapes the dead pig on a spit. It's still debated if it actually happened, but majority of theories say yes. Lots of power dynamics really heavily learning into mob mentality and manipulation. The physical abuse are performed by the boys onto other boys. It never brinks onto anything sexual, though those topics do come up during analysis of the book.
