A laugh-out-loud book full of bums! From zebras to lions!
I have had my eyes on this book for a while, or well, the Dutch edition. But it was constantly loaned out or not in the library. But behold! One of my libraries added the English edition and I could finally! Finally! Read it! So happy!
In this hilarious book we meet a little (but chubby) zebra named Ziggy (perfect name). He loves eating. He loves his herd. He loves his mom. He can find her easily even when he has wandered off to eat all the yummy food that he can eat. XD But then something happens when he gets greedy and POOF his mom and his herd is gone (and there is a ton of chaos). We see Ziggy try to find his herd again, find his mum’s bum again. And we see him search far and wide for bums. Seeing bums from rhinos to hippos to even growly lions. Yep, Ziggy is determined and he doesn’t shy away from going to every animal and inspecting their bums which just had me laughing so hard because dang so many fine bums. From spotty to knotted (yes really) to hungry. I was just hoping that Ziggy would be able to find it! I know, it is a children’s book so it will probably have a HEA, but still!
The art was just fab, I really enjoyed the style. It was colourful, fun, hilarious (those bums).
All in all, if you are looking for a book that is both cute and sweet but also superhilarious I would recommend this one. I am sure this will be a hit with the tiny ones with how many bums there are. XD

Firstly, when it comes to dedications, Mike Byrne’s is up there as one of the best!
MB ~ For Sonny and Theo, who never fail to CRACK me up. Brilliant! Lol
I don’t care how old you are if you don’t smile while reading this book, I think something must be wrong with you.
Humour is a sure-fire way to grab the reader's attention and hold it for the whole book. Ok, so I know this isn’t a novel, but it still applies, and this book is jam-packed with fun and laughter from the beginning to the (back) end. See what I did there? Lol
The rhymes are clever and catchy and flow seamlessly, and I’m sure everyone will love them, but I have to mention the font. I love how the font changes to highlight certain words, allowing them to jump off the page, but I also love the font used for the majority of the text. It’s fun yet simple, which makes it easy for kids to follow and even helps with learning to read.
And then we have the illustrations. Oh, my bums! The pictures are full of life, joy and CHEEKiness! (See, I did it again. Lol) Not only do we get a parade of animal bums, but the expressions on their faces are equally delightful. It’s easy to get lost in the Savannah with Ziggy and take in all the fabulous sights (and bums) as he looks for his mum.
I LOVE this book and would like to thank Jonny Leighton, Mike Byrne, Buster Books & Love Book Tours from the BOTTOM of my heart. Lol
