I first learned about this book from Ali Edwards (she was interviewed in the book), and added it to my list. I forgot about it until Jessica was interviewed on the Elise Gets Crafty podcast, and picked it up the next time I was in the book store. I started reading it, but set it aside to read other books instead. I finally picked it up again and read the entire thing over two days. I didn't fill out any of the questions, but still got a ton of useful information from the book.
For any women out there, looking to get the most out of their days, and significantly change the way they're spending their time, I definitely recommend this book. I think it's important to address all the things taking up time that could be better spent doing more intentional things, and this book helps you with all of that!

I didn't realize this was Christian Mom focused book so didn't really get much out of it but still interesting from a gender studies perspective.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I am not a self-help book fan (usually). I loved her perspectives, and have already implemented some changes in my life. Because I'm worth it. Just like my shampoo says. But seriously, this is a great book for all women, but especially young mothers, working or not. Oh, and major Christian vibes, so if you're not into that, you won't like the book.

This was a good, challenging read for me. While I often assume the concept of "self-care" is automatically going to be rather selfish, this book reminded me that in the midst of mommyhood, it is important to remember and practice those things that make me uniquely me. I don't have to completely lose my own interests and abilities just because life is demanding. Instead, I have to find small pockets of time to do the things that fill me up and encourage me because that will give me more energy to pour into the lives of others.

This book has a lot of excellent tips and suggestions in it. However, two things. One, it can seem very overwhelming. And while the author does mention rest at the end of the book, it seems like that is an afterthought compared to the rest of the book. Secondly, this book is directed at a highly specific audience: well-off white women [with families]. Not everyone can afford hiring help for basic tasks. Some people struggle just to take care of themselves and their families, let alone find time for themselves. And many different struggles are not mentioned, such as trying to balance working full time and attending graduate school. Life is hard for so many people, and that's just not mentioned in this book. I enjoyed it, but I can see why a lot of people would not.

Premise was good, but I already do about 90% of what she suggests.

I think this would be a better read for a mom who's getting in the swing of things. The author talks about how to use the time on the edges of your day to take better care of yourself, doing the things that help you function better the rest of the day. I'm not quite there yet. Good idea for a gift to a new mom!

Good reminder of the importance of using our free time to build our lives and how to find that free time in the first place. Directed at women but a good skim for anyone.

I think the biggest takeaway I have from this book is to be prepared so I can make the best use of fringe hours. Makes me rethink time spent waiting and taking the dog out and such. We have more time than we think.
