The Girl in 6E

A.R. Torre

3.66 AVERAGE

This was a fun, fast read. I like our protagonist a lot. Her pathology and the ways that she dealt with it were interesting and original. I had my problems with it which bring the rating down. 1) I found the crime/'mystery' element pretty predictable. The multiple POVs and structure of the story signal too early what is going to happen. 2) So short. I like a concise, fast-paced to the point story, but I think there was so much to explore here. As a three act structure, the gear shifts too quickly. 3) Related to the length and detail, this kids up so neatly and nicely. It also ends up a million miles away from where we started and I don't feel like that journey made sense or quite believable/felt.

It is different and dark, though and I think I will get to the sequels eventually. I really liked this character and would be interested to see where her mind goes.

3.75

not a literary great but a fun, quick read. not unguessable twists or reveals, but still worth the read to see it play out. it's probably a 3.75 rounded up for enjoyment purposes. i'd definitely be interested in reading more erotic thrillers, and if i can easily get my hands on the sequel, i'll pick it up.

Wish it was longer tbh but will be reading the series.

3.5 stars--Started out strong but began to bore me a little after about the first third. Also fairly predictable. Glad I read it, but not sure if I will continue the series yet.

2.5/5 to be clear. Reviews on the front and back of the book claim it to be "edgy" but this Mary Sue character has the edge to a 6th grader shopping at Hot Topic.
This is the book form of a movie that is reaching so hard to be feature length.
The reason I say this is because there is so much that can be cut out and it wouldn't change the plot at all.

In terms of the plot, it's anticlimactic. It's a great idea and I read it because I loved the concept but with this cringe worthy edgy character added on to the book's awkward dialogue- especially at the resolution- just makes you feel unsatisfied and unresolved. Even in the expected twist.

Last thing, there is some flawed ass logic having to do with usernames since some key characters just use their first names. And having to do with the romance aspects too.

It was a page turner in terms of me reading more and more so it could finally be over.
fast-paced

Ok! I went in blind and was not surprised! A. R. Torre might be an auto buy author for me. This is the 3rd unhinged thriller I've read from this author and it was so good.

Confused feelings...I read it in a day, but am left feeling strangely dissatisfied.
