Disturbing

I bought this book some time ago, so I don't recall the premise of the book. I was quite taken aback by the subject matter.

It's difficult to empathize with a character that fantasizes over blood, guts, and killing.

However, the book was written well. I just didn't care for the subject matter.

I probably will read the sequel in the hopes that Deanna's story somehow ends up with her becoming normal.

I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would, but I wish it had ended a few chapters before it did, the ending felt too predictable. Now debating whether to read the second book.

An interesting concept for a book. I enjoyed it. The book had very short chapters of 1-3 pages each (83 total), so that made it easy to read, but it also made the first 1/3 of the book a little choppy. It took longer to develop a feel for or connection to the characters. I would have liked some more development of the main character, Deanna. It seemed a little rushed/forced to make her into an uncontrollable killer even with her backstory. But overall, still a decent book. Good suspense. Good balance of spice. An obviously well-researched story too.
