This book was a little disappointing and very depressing.

I have to knock off a little something because this book is so pretentious and earnest it's frankly ridiculous, but I love it. So much. I first read TFIOS at around Hazel's age, and over a decade later, it's still special to me. Sometimes my brain doesn't let me see the beauty in this world, and John Green reminds me to look for it, even when it's almost unbearably hard and annoying to do so.

This was a meh read. I didn't care for the writing style and was not attached to any of the characters. It had moments I enjoyed, so I kept reading, but overall it was pretty boring in my opinion.

This book ripped my heart from my chest, but also brought to light the struggles of individuals with a chronic illness.

I'm an absolute sucker for star and universe metaphors, analogies, what have you. I found it very sweet although it's known to be sad and a little too real at times. It's a good little coming of age time with tons of metaphors and symbolism here and there. It's worth the read. Plus the movie's pretty enjoyable as well :)

2021: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I remember how much i loved this book when i was younger. I found Augustus a bit annoying at the beginning, but he got better thankfully.
I remember the quotes me and so many others loved and still found them to be amazing. My favorite is: “As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”
This book made me feel happy and sad, and i did enjoyed it a lot. It still is an 5 star book and deserves all the hype it got.
Green knows how to play with words and still keep the book nice an easy read.

2013: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
