This variation starts from Darcy's letter and barely touches the P&P text after that, making this a highly original variation. It also spends most of its time in Scotland rather than England, for a new location. I liked the plot as well, and Elizabeth and Darcy both felt true to the source material.

Another wonderful addition to the JAFF world from Abigail. I love how her imagination works and how she dreams up wonderful new characters (Aunt Emmeline!) who fit so nicely into the canon and new depths for the characters we know and love (Richard). I also loved this story because it gives us so much great time of D&E actually being in each others company, and each of them working through how to try to be together without all the pieces of the story. This was a page turner for sure.

What happens when Darcy inadvertently compromises Elizabeth by a letter and his family decides to hold no punches and threaten her whole entire family?

A Scottish adventure!
Que Theatricals, Kilts and Old Jack the highwayman. Add the spice of Darcy's enduring love, and you got a fantastic story. Politics, Money and Family drama courtesy of Lord Fitzwilliam brings much to inflame an already complex situation.
But will Darcy get his Elizabeth in the end?
Listened on audiobook, after reading a couple of times. Great narration (even tho she isn't my fave) her accents were awesome!

I really enjoyed this book, loved the Scottish aspect. I have never read a book by Mrs. Reynolds that I did not enjoy. :-)
