 The author’s background as a poet is evident in the writing, with prose that perfectly captures the oceanic atmosphere-slightly vague, distant, and eerily atmospheric. The ship and sea felt like isolated worlds of their own anomaly with human existance . The unexplained occurrences caught me off guard and much of the rest went over my head, which bummed me

Das Roman Debüt von Mariette Navarro hat es trotz der Kürze und der vermeintlich simplen Handlung, in sich. Der banale Akt des Schwimmens schafft es einen ganzen Roman zu fülle  und langweilt den Leser dabei zu keinem Zeitpunkt...direkt ab dem Beginn, bin ich so tief in die Geschichte eingetaucht, dass ich das Buch erst nach dem Auslesen wieder aus der Hand legen konnte! Häufig wird in Romanen die wilde, unberechenbare, gefürchtete Seite des Meeres gezeigt. Das ist hier anders...

Ein Roman der besonderen Art, aber wer das Meer liebt, wird definitiv auch diesen Roman lieben!
