I am absolutely loving this series.

The way Reintgen ended this novel...wow!

*4.5 stars*
Incredible! I need more!! Scott Reintgen is an amazing YA sci fi author and this series is just brilliant. It deserves so much more recognition in the YA community! Everyone read this series!!!

Another battle against each other book, and it offer very little to the world and chose to focus on the characters instead, so far Kaya and Morning and perhaps Bilal are the interesting character in the book. The others are just so forgettable and quite generic or familiar. And of course, the cliché corporation.
Since on the second book,
Spoilerthey will go down to Adam
, I expect more world building. Something new, apart from the Nyxia.

All the main characters of people of color, which I really enjoyed. Otherwise, this is a less murder-y Hunger Games in space. Plenty of hints at something sinister down the road. I will definitely give the next volume a shot and look forward to recommending it to my sci-fi lovers.

Kids in space learn how to battle using a magical substance that responds to your thoughts. Poor kids are recruited to compete for a place on the team, which means income for life and health care for their families. I enjoyed it - not sure if I'll contine with the other books to see how it all shakes out. If you liked Enders Game, you'll probably like this one.

This was such a good book! 4 stars because there were some points in the book that felt very slow in my opinion. I understand why they were there, just felt very slow and dragged out. Other then that this is what I needed to escape 2020! Mix of Hunger Games and Illuminae Files!

Thanks to First to Read for allowing me access to this ARC. I am all in on this one. Scifi is my jam. I appreciate the themes of family and community for young adults, and I love that so many topical concerns show up in the book creatively: politics, capitalism, and desensitization of youth, for a few. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed the viewpoints offered in the book.
