Very bizarre storyline , kept me reading out of curiosity. I also really like the main character.

I love everything about the Cormoran Strike novels--great characters, clever and unexpected plots, good writing. These are VASTLY superior to A Casual Vacancy. I look forward to the next one with relish.

Reread six years later: holds up beautifully. My only complaint is that Strike uses a woman for his own needs. She tells him off and he feels ashamed, but really, why did we need it in the first place?

I was looming forward to another Robert Galbraith because I really enjoyed the first one. It had been a while since I read it though so it took me a while to remember what happened with Strike and Robin in the first book. This one seemed a little more scattered and only came together by something Strike discovered, but wasn't revealed to the readers until the second to last chapter. It didn't seem as suspenseful or well-developed as the first one.
