The second book in the Cormoran Strike series brings a whole new challenge for the private detective. I was thoroughly entertained, and I was constantly on the edge of my seat with each twist and turn. J. K. Rowling has herself another wonderful, captivating, and elaborate story in The Silkworm, a great follow-up to The Cuckoo's Calling.
Quick light read. I read the book non stop. I love Cormoran Strike and I hope the there are more books to come!!!!
This woman never ceases to amaze me. There must be hundreds of mystery novels out there, but she manages to keep the curiosity and interest of the reader until the very end. Setting the mystery around the literary scene only made it more compelling, shedding some light on the personality of various authors and literary figures and their complicated relationships. The most astonishing thing is she probably wrote three different plots to the book. The main plot of the book, the plot of the book the missing author supposedly wrote, which we get to read and the original plot he wrote. We don't see the latter but being J.K. Rowling, I think it's safe to say she knows it and it's scribbled somewhere in her home office. The development of the two main characters is also excellent; it's just the second book of the series but you can already see heaps of changes, that feel natural and nothing at all rushed on both of them.
Delightfully engaging mystery. You know a book is good when you neglect all the things you should be doing...
I really liked it! I mean, it is J.K. Rowling, and I'm not at all surprised that she writes mysteries so well. I definitely wanted to spend more time in the car listening, because I couldn't wait to see who was behind Quine's disappearance and eventual death. Thankfully, I was able to jump right in without having read The Cuckoo's Calling, and I liked it enough that I'm definitely looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
I did like it as an audio book (except it was such a long audio book that I really needed a break from audio books), and while Glenister is a great voice for Strike, I don't know that I'd seek him out as a narrator. Still, if I started listening to a book he narrated, I'd still listen to the book.
My Rating: 4 stars. I didn't love it, but it's a really good mystery!

He disfrutado muchísimo leyendo ambos libros en #lecturasconjuntasraquellectora

Love this series
In an age where forensic-heavy police dramas are the norm, it’s refreshing to read an old-school detective novel where the case is solved by knock-on-the-door-and-ask-questions investigation. This series harkens to a time when it was all about the dialogue. If you like Agatha Christie, you’ll love the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith.
