This audiobook didn't work for me. It was filled with story after story of drug, alcohol, and sex filled excesses. It was repetitive and boring.
As someone who occasionally drops the f-bomb, cursing doesn't bother me; however, the over-the-top cursing ruined the book's flow. It was more about the cursing than the actual writing.
There were two confirmations: Mario Batali is a tool, and Tony Bourdain was a nice guy!

Difficult to rate since it’s about true events and she manages to write about very raw and embarrassing moments (that I would be taking to my grave if I was in her position). So, while acknowledging Woolever’s bravery for putting those aspects of her life into the public eye, I unfortunately don’t think it should have been marketed as a tell-all about the food world.
Where is the care? Where is the feeding? I was looking forward to reading juicy details about the food industry (which to be fair was present in the first 1/3) but after that this becomes quite a mess where we are told about everything but care and feeding. On the positive, it seems Woolever is aware of her growth and maybe lack thereof throughout some of the years written about, so I wish her all the best.

I generally love cooking memoirs but this one was unbearable. The whole time I was reading I just thought about what person would actually write this about themself. I absolutely hate cheating and the graphic depictions of Laurie cheating was awful.
The first 60% kept me enraptured. I find the way she described everything to be so different and straightforward. very interesting. Good first book!
This book was probably the most boring memoir I’ve ever read in my life. The author was a very self-destructive, pathetic individual that did not have a remotely interesting life story to tell. I do know the minutiae of every meal she ate, though. If you’re looking for a behind-the-scenes look at the restaurant industry and the celebrities that make it interesting, you can go ahead and skip this. There is none of that here. I’m glad she got herself some help, though. I hope she makes better choices in her life.
