Nah.

I think it's the characters (I don't like Kit as a narrator, Lienna is boring, the other characters have no substance), the forced chemistry/slow-burn romance (it came a little quickly for plot purposes in the 1st book, and here it's just obviously contrived), and the plot that I'm not vibing with (yes, there are demons, but it's not fun or entertaining). Which is the whole book, sooo lol

I will say tho, the first book is better than this one. So imma change that rating from a 2 star to a 2.5 star.

Will I continue with this series? Yes, for the sole purpose of keeping up with the timeline and universe. But I'm probably gonna skim them all, just like I did this one.

Happy reading, Goodreads fiends.

4.5 - I love Kit and this entire universe. I can't wait to read more.

Still loving the series. I’ve dipped just to 3 of the 4 guild codex series so far and enjoy them all. Lienna and Kit are such great characters that balance each other out. Though I’d really like to know how to pronounce Lienna.

This book is just so much fun! Kit is adorable, his wittiness is off the charts, and these books are just the pick-me-up I needed after a tough couple of months. I LOVED Kit's first book, but this one suffers a tiny bit from middle book/second book syndrome. Even so, it's not worth taking off more than half a star. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series!
