4.5✨ This was such an amazing story! I absolutely Loved all the layers to the plot, it made it feel like it was more than just shallow romance book. Such amazing chemistry between all the characters! I loved everything about this read.

3.5 stars rounded up. I really enjoyed these characters and it's hard to go wrong with a book that includes recipes, but I didn't enjoy that a lot of the conflict in the later portion of the book depends on them not talking to each other. They spend so much time complaining about their families that it seems like Nadim would have mentioned his issues with his father and that he was formerly engaged at some point. Also, I couldn't figure out if Reena was just extremely biased when talking about her sister or her sister had a personality transplant at some point.

It appears to be my week to read about foodie SE Asian heroines who live in Toronto...

Accidentally Engaged is charming and funny featuring a couple with sizzling chemistry. In addition to the main characters/storyline, I was particularly taken with Reena's sister. She was selfish and unlikeable at the beginning of the book, but made a huge effort to mature and reach out to Reena. I was afraid she would end up as a one-dimensional semi-villain, but instead she grew up into a mature friend and sister.

What a delicious and fun read!

The story follows a single 31 yr old Reena Manji, her complicated relationship with her overbearing family, and her passion for baking and bread. Her parents have consistently tried to set her up with eligible men, hoping she will like one of them and get married. Enters - Nadim Remtulla, her new neighbour and parental approved match.

I absolutely loved the chemistry between Reena and Nadim and all the delicious food. I thought there was a perfect blend of cultures which was relatable. The author had a great writing style and was able to invigorate all the wonderful "flavours" in the reader. It was an easy read, with loads of depth, romance, family drama, and delicious food. I can't imagine wanting anything more from a book :)

Despite the amount of foot fetish, it was a sweet book. This was one of the only books where I didn't mind how fast their relationship went. It was a little dramatic but it worked.
