FUCK a book hasn’t left me crying this hard in a long time. I’m still collecting myself and my thoughts.

I can’t in good conscience recommend this book because of how it affected me and the ITENSE graphic triggers but, SHIT dude.

TW: big one for sexual assault (on the page, not implied, ch26), domestic violence, physical violence, graphic gore for humans and animals, guns/knives/darts, BIRTH, DEATH, truly everything.

Unreliable narrator perhaps? Idk if that’s a trigger necessarily.

I need a big blanket and fluffy reads for a WHILE to recover from this.

“And when you open your heart to re-wilding a landscape, the truth is you’re opening your heart to re-wilding yourself.”

A beautiful story on the importance of nature, animals, the world around us, and human nature.

Super compelling read - I picked it up thinking it was another book entirely, so was a little confused but not disappointed. The story has an environmental sub-plot which makes you think about your own impact on the world as it continues to warm. The concept of 're-wilding' part of Scotland through the reintroduction of the wolf really intrigued me. On top of this storyline, there is a murder mystery, plus the backstory of Inti and her sister keeps you coming back to find out more.

It reminded me a lot of The Breeding Season by Amanda Niehaus.

TW: Domestic abuse, mention of rape, some violence towards animals.

I was immediately into the book, I didn’t expect the ending until the last couple chapters.
