This story was very unusual in the best way. The pacing was a bit slow, but kept my attention. I was slowly drawn into the very strange world, which only became stranger as the story progressed.

Like Ursula K. LeGuin, much of the vast world is mostly hinted at. Moments in the book suggest a rich and expansive world full of oddities. If you enjoy LeGuin, you’ll probably like this. It doesn’t hold your hand, but manages to reveal something fascinating nonetheless.
