It wasn't compelling me to pick it up as regular as I'd want for a book with this interesting a premise.
Might try again another day

The premise of this book was a interesting but I fault the execution because it really took too long. I like the idea behind the different creatures but it was revealed too late. I like that they mentioned a problem with humanity thinking itself above other beings but it was swept under the rug so it didn't get to have the importance that it might have had. Too many unanswered questions for me. The artificial depth here felt fake and so far in the series, it is.

Vetted for potential addition to school library. Clean, no profanity or inappropriate content, which I appreciate. I thought it was fairly fast paced and good fun.

It wasn't terrible but after I found out there are 16+ books in the series, I didn't see the point in finishing it, since I could already tell I wouldn't like it enough to read the others.

This wasn't even too bad considering I wasn't expecting much, but so much of it just didn't add up and too many things were left unexplained, or ignored. Very irritating, however it has a lot of potential and worth it for fantasy livers

A pretty good book, especially for younger teens, as the main characters are all about 12.
