This was a strange one for me. The first part of the book - nearly half of it - was mostly setting the scene and was not very Christmassy and just made you feel quite sad for Imogen. The second half, was much more festive, but it felt really rushed and the way the relationship with Miles developed so quickly made me feel like I'd missed a couple of chapters. I actually went back to check I hadn't missed some pages out by accident

mostly because I was looking for a light holiday book and this was not it. Like others have said before, the first 70% of this book is depressing. the last portion is the happy part and it feels rushed. The build up of the story could have been decreased a bit. I also listened to this on audiobook and a grown woman doing the voice of the children is grating.
