I enjoyed the Book Club Hotel last year, but this book mainly annoyed me. The first 40% is the characters brooding about problems that aren’t explained yet, or being generally unlikable but mysterious. The last half was still slow, but the character changes seemed to fast. The pacing was off for me, and I ended up not feeling connected to any of the characters.

I loved the Book Club Hotel last year. Sarah does it again. Imogen is a workaholic (I relate) that finds out that what she has been told her whole life is not exactly the truth and she has a loving family waiting for her. Great holiday read

Really nice easy read over the festive period. I went into this book expecting an easy romcom storyline but am happily surprised they it ventured into some quite heavy topics to do with loneliness, family issues and internal expectations.

The characters were all easy to get on with and the final chapter is a nice finish to it. It's a shame there isn't a second book about these characters but maybe that's for the best.
