The ending alone is what bumped up this rating for me. I felt like the book took a long time to really get to the
family reunion/actual Christmas part for a Christmas book and don’t think it needed such a long run up about all of the events/burn out Imogen was facing. It did build up a picture of how burnt out she was, but I wanted to know more about the Christmas stuff and wanted to know more about the Christmas Day and dates with Miles. I would happily read a sequel of these characters of maybe Imogen deciding to join the family business and her having a Christmas wedding with Miles? That would be adorable. I loved all of the characters, especially Miles, Imogen and Sara by the end. I found Ava annoying but that is just because I don’t like kids. I also liked Ralph the dog. The author painted an amazing picture of Christmas in the Cotswolds. But I couldn’t help realise some of the spellings were American which was confusing. I didn’t mind the writing style, and liked that different chapters had different characters. But sometimes it felt like it was written in a rush and was another Xmas book she churned out because sometimes it would be repetitive and mention the same thing which makes it feel lazy. I think I also rate this book below 4 stars because I accidentally spoiled the book for myself by reading the blurb on here and it revealed that Dorothy was family, which was really annoying and probably is the reason why I wanted the beginning to hurry up because the mystery part of the book was not valid for me. But I did feel very emotional and Christmassy near the end and had tears in my eyes because I love Christmas and time with my mum, dad and boyfriend.
