Imogen has never liked Christmas - her only family being her mother who ordered to pretend they weren't related, Christmas wasn't quite the family affair she always dreamed of.
When yet another run in with her mother pushes her to the edge, her boss suggests Imogen takes an extended leave over Christmas. Her favourite client, Dorothy, offers Imogen her holiday cottage in the Cotswolds. What started out as a break from everything might just change Imogen's life forever.
This was a warm, beautiful story. Found family is one of my favourite tropes, and this book showed just how important those we choose to surround ourselves with can be.
I thought Imogen was a great character. She had incredible inner strength, especially after everything she had been through, and she was also so vulnerable. She was an incredibly emotional and evocative character.
The other characters - Dorothy, Sara and Miles - were equally lovely and wholesome. And there was a dog: Ralph.
This felt very Christmassy, and was just a nice, easy read with lots of warm feelings. Imogen had a very emotional story and it was just written so well.
I thought the timeline was a little quick - I felt like Imogen accepted everything a lot quicker than I would have expected her to given her character. Overall though I really enjoyed this.

It was cute. Not my normal genre but it was a nice change.
