This is super thought provoking….a total English class book if you know what I mean. Makes you think about what it means to be human, what it means to be a woman, friendships, isolation, time, government. It leave enough concepts vaguely interpreted by the narrator that you draw your own conclusions.
I docked it 0.5 because it’s depressing and explicitly cerebral.

4.25– i who must now go stare into the void
a metaphor for life that is weirdly compelling
if you need answers and reasons for why things are the way they are, this is not going to be for you. at all.
instead, it’s an interesting think piece that ultimately goes nowhere. you follow cycles of hope and hopelessness in a reality that you know nothing about and never will know anything about. it’s not a feminist story. it’s not happy and it doesn’t try to be. it’s just the trudge of life and the impatience to keep moving.
i read it in one sitting straight through and you kinda just end up with a “stare into the void and ponder the story’s ambiguity” feeling that is going to take a second to process

Mix of Audio & digital - This short book packs a punch! It’s very cerebral and philosophical and although plenty happens, I was never hooked by this one. I think it’s more of a me thing than the book. I can appreciate what this book and examines but it just wasn’t really for me. If it was any longer, and didn’t come recommended by a friend, I probably would’ve DNFed.
The version of this book that I wrote in my head before reading it was better than the book ended up being. It was definitely thought-provoking but with shocking amounts of missed potential.
