Imagine 'The Handmaid's Tale' and '1984' had a love child, but add Camus' absurdism - then you would have this book. This is a short but interesting read and I love how Harpman uses the narrator as a neutral version of a human, as any gendered stereotypes and norms are foreign to her. This novel, blatantly or subtly, tackles topics such as womanhood, individuality, knowledge and its power, and the absurdity of life because at the end of the day we all meet the same fate.
