Something She's Not Telling Us by Darcey Bell

I admit that this was a page turner. I had to know what the heck was going on. There are no likeable characters. Only Daisy, I guess. However…

1) Charlotte drove me insane. She really got on my nerves. She was far too overprotective and such a worry wart. Reading about her stressing out over nothing made me feel quite anxious. Just stop already!
2) Ted.

The ending was abrupt. It was easy to read though

I'm going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. Maybe it should be 3.5. I wanted to read this because I saw the movie A Simple Favor and knew this is the author that wrote that book. I wasn't crazy about the story or characters, but I had to keep reading to find out what happens.
Overall it is a good quick read.

Too many setting details that slow down the pacing. Ruth wasn’t a believable character for me and I didn’t like reading her chapters. The ending fell flat.

Another book by Darcey Bell with a cast of flawed characters. It had plenty of moments of intense suspense that kept me turning the pages. Unfortunately, I found myself comparing it too much to Darcey’s debut novel. I loved A Simple Favor and was hoping to feel the same about this one. However, Darcey does a great job fleshing out the characters and keeping the story moving at a good pace. A good pick, just not amazing.

I didn’t feel as attached to the characters or the storyline as I would have liked.. nothing of a “wow factor” to this book, which is too bad because I have previously read “A Simple Favor” a few years ago and enjoyed both the movie and the book. This book was okay but nothing to write home about unfortunately. Another book added to the list.

4.5 stars! The beginning was a little slow but after that I was hanging on to every word wanting to know what would happen next and which secrets would unfold. The ending left me craving for more - like more of a resolution, other than that this book was amazing! I definitely recommend!
