reread this for the first time since freshman year of high school & i did enjoy it a lot, especially the underlying gothic motifs & boo radley’s character. atticus is one helluva guy.

This book is one to read to challenge views from a different time, and is one I personally have never forgotten

I started the book multiple times over the last few years, finally got to the halfway point this summer only mildly enjoying it and was ready to set this aside again for a period to start another book in the meantime. However, I decided to keep reading last night and all the building up started paying off immensely. I was mesmerised by the courtroom chapters, some of the heart-rending speeches and passages that are still so relevant to this day, the characters and their little town in Alabama are so vividly depicted and Atticus Finch is such an idol of a character, this instantly jumped from a 3 to 4-star book to a very easy 5-star one. Beautiful.
This is an excellent book. I've read it a couple of times.
This is my all time favorite book. It is one of the VERY few books I have read more than once. I make a habit to read it every few years. I have shared my love of this book with my daughter.
