I tried, I really did but my god, I didn't want to end up in another reading slump as I did with the twisted games book. God, these books are boring. Bye.

DNF. I told myself I wouldn't buy book 2 after book 1 and guess what? I bought book 2. I hate myself. Congrats to the author on making me hate myself! Gonna go back to Target tomorrow to return it and get my money back.

I absolutely LOVED this romance! I enjoyed the first book, but this one was just so sweet. It was low angst, even though there were some forbidden aspects to it since Isabella works as a bartender at the Valhalla club and they are not allowed to date members.

Kai is a serious, smart, and reserved businessman on the verge of becoming the CEO to his family's company. However, he has to portray the perfect image with the upcoming CEO vote. In comes the spontaneous, lively, and inappropriate Isabella. She has been trying to write her own book for a couple years and her family has now given her a deadline to complete it or she will need to come home to work for the family.

Kai and Isabella had so many sweet interactions and they start to secretly date. I loved how sweet Kai was and how he tried to support her dreams in any way he could. Isabella has a lot of self-doubt and she felt like the loser of the family. Kai was always trying to build her self-confidence.

Kai and Isabella were perfect for each other, even though one of the conflicts was centered around Isabella thinking she could not fit into Kai's world. I loved this couple so much and Kai was so swoonworthy. Oh, and I loved Kai's dirty mouth.

I can't wait to read the next book for a marriage in trouble romance.

Did this book take me an unreasonable amount of time to finish? Yes it did and while I’m writing this review months later, I could probably tell you why it took me so long.

this book kind of bored me. I’m sorry to those that loved this book. I’m not saying I hated it, clearly as I gave it four stars. However, and this is completely just a me issue, there wasn’t any angst. LISTEN LISTEN — I love angst and drama between characters and this felt like it lacked.

I love Kai and Isabella’s relationship. The banter. The sexy talk. Everything about their relationship was beautiful and wonderful. The only real issue they had was that they’re total opposites. Other than that, there wasn’t any true turmoil to their relationship.

This book just isn’t my favorite in the series’s and I’m so sorry. It just felt like it was missing the normal ooomph that’s in her stories
