Heist stories always have the following: a good plot, a badass female character, and a decently sad ending. This book went beyond those expectations and I enjoyed it so so much! The story follows a thief taking a risk for a group not familiar to her and she comes out successful in the end. How did I get to this point and why? I could follow with the plot easily, I enjoyed the characters/ character development, and the world building made lots of sense. This is easily such an amazing book and makes for a great read on a rainy day. (I read the first part of it riding on a bus during a rainy day). Overall, this was an awesome book and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was my first attempt at sci-fi & initially it was confusing. Once the story grabbed ahold of me it was much easier to understand the way things worked in this world.

I enjoyed it, but not enough to read the rest of the books in the trilogy.

an excellent and supremely unique experience! loved the diverse cast of characters and while i can see some people getting annoyed with some of the very Joss Whedon-esque dialogue, I found it pretty fun and matching in tone with the characters who chose to use it!

The sheer span of mysteries and unique magic system here really left me so excited for the sequels and now I’m excited to dive into the rest of Bennett’s work
