WHAT A FUN BOOK. Great world, fantastic voice, and exciting magic system. Essentially trick objects into being what they're not. Really loved that system. Great characters, especially the main character, Sancia.
Some parts were slower than others. I liked how it was generally brutal, but had good humor to not make it awful.

Refreshing take on the urban fantasy genre. The magic system is fascinating and mixes magic, language and science into one. There's also a focus on technology from ancient beings, and honestly its super sick.
There's also good commentary on societal classes and caste systems.
A very fun ride that has 2 additional books in the series if you crave more.

I'm obsessed with this world. The magic system is so cool. It's kinda grim dark in a more modern way which really clicked with me, and overall I'm looking forward to reading the rest!
