Maybe I am biased but I have been a huge fan of Dr. Bruce Perry’s work. I also read this from a lens trying to understand myself, people in my life and those I’ve worked with rather than just for information.

I found this book super informative and I really liked how Dr. Perry used examples from his work to put the “science speak” into context. I liked seeing different models and found the information learned will help shift my view when trying to understand challenging behaviours.

Very insightful look at the various and varied effects trauma can have across the lifespan. The back and forth between the authors seemed a bit silly at times, but I did like the conversational structure and tone of the book. I had a quite a few highlights and sticky tabs once I was done.
