I liked the illustrations. When family fun time is replaced by a television, Chloe is upset. I thought it might end with the family getting rid of the television and seeing the error of their ways. But no, the parents send they kids to bed for being too noisy and interrupting their tv time. I didn't like it.

I like the lesson that TV isolates you from having family fun time and good times together.

Sweet and simple drawings, although the plot is a bit flat. I just noticed on this reading that the pound cake (featured as a King Kong-esque character on the family's TV) looks wherever the family is looking in the various illustrations, which is kind of funny.

Chloe is one of eleven children. When her family gets a new television, they all pile together to watch. But Chloe's not impressed with TV for a family fun night. She and her doll make up next games that are a lot more interactive. Soon, the whole family joins their fun. This would pair well with BLACKOUT for a theme of family togetherness.

The illustrations are gorgeous, in McCarty's signature soft style.

It's no surprise that Chloe comes from a big family of rabbits. Chloe's favorite time of day is the evening when everyone is home and they use their imaginations to entertain themselves. One day, father brings home a t.v. set and things change.

Cute illustrations but overall not impressive.

Lower elementary.

Chloe has ten older brothers and sisters and ten younger brothers and sisters. She's in the middle and she loves it--especially when they all gather for family fun time.

Gorgeous art but I just didn't like it much. Nothing really happens and it was devoid of the 'middle-child' aspect I was expecting. And I have trouble buying into any little kid who takes only seconds to realize 'TV is a family-threatening hollow entertainment!'

I loved the illustrations in this one-- charming and strange. The bunnies are simultaneously cute and odd, almost alien-esque with their solid-black eyes.

Never underestimate the power of imagination ... and bubble wrap! :)
