I love Curtis Sittenfield, although this wasn't as good as Rodham and American Wife I enjoyed it. You don't get many books about twins so I liked it for that reason. The psychic element of the story was also interesting.

Curtis Sittenfeld is a great writer and I feel like I should give this at least 3 stars because it's written well, but my god it was SO TEDIOUS and I hated the main character. If this was 300 pages instead of 400 that would have greatly improved the experience. My full review is here.

Curtis Sittenfeld is one of my favorite authors. I was skeptical about this book based on other reviews I read. And while it is somewhat different from her other works, I still found it easy to read and very engaging. I enjoyed it very much overall and will continue to anticipate new work from this author.

MILD SPOILER:
I did not care for the ending and resolution of one character in particular and felt the last bit of the book in relation to this character was weird and distasteful. For some reason, this did not ruin the book for me.

I was disappointed in this one. It got good reviews but it was only ok. Parts of it moved really too slow and the ending seemed rather slapped on. One could also anticipate some of the plot points.

This (audio)book dragged on about 15 hrs too long. A bit of racist themes (supposed to be from character but the amount in this book stuck out too shockingly) and dull unlikeable characters. Before I even got to the middle of the book I was begging for the earthquake to happen and end it all. I wish I was a person that can easily DNF books. I would’ve so quickly with this one.

This book is kind of a tease. Lots of build-up. Not a ton of payoff. But, I kept thinking about it after I was done and now I want someone else to read it so we can discuss.
