I look forward to Kelly Miller’s new regency romances and am always so excited when I hear she has a new release coming out! THE MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE OF MR. DARCY starts off with an absolutely adorable meet cute between a feisty Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy (along with collie Rory, who totally stole the scene.) Is it wrong that I kind of love watching her witty comebacks cause Darcy to put his foot in his mouth? The scenes of friendship and future sisterhood between Elizabeth and Georgiana are a delight as well and of course Darcy and Elizabeth do not remain at odds for long, quickly entering a courtship and marrying, quite happily. This novel combined two of my favorite genres, with a lovely romance, and then a mystery, as Mr. Darcy disappears under mysterious circumstances and Elizabeth must figure out what has become of her new husband, and avoid listening to gossips trying to tear their young marriage apart. I especially loved the utmost faith Darcy put in Elizabeth, at a time when women had few rights. Another wonderful book I know I will be rereading! 5/5 stars.
