This book is more than 5 stars. It’s a thousand. It’s a million. It’s infinite stars. This book was SO DAMN GOOD and I’m still in my feels about it. I’m probably always going to be in my feels about it.
Goddamn I love Ted Lasso and I love Chloe Liese and the fact that I got them both is INCREDIBLE. I’ve never been one for MM romances but I loved this. I love Gav and Oliver. Queer romances!!
I loved this book better, best, beyond. I’m still reeling. Wow. Wow wow wow.
7/5/2022: just finished this as an audiobook (read it the first time on my kindle), and I would recommend slowing the audio to 95% instead of playing it at 100% speed. The voice actor speaks VERY quickly. Like faster than Gilmore Girls fast. I also would have been super excited to have two different voice actors for Gavin and Oliver’s points of view, but the voice actor we have is still pretty great!

I liked it a lot don’t get me wrong I loved the rivals to lovers can never go wrong with that! However I was just a little confused towards the end because I honestly was like wait they never said they liked each other or wanted to be with each other but then all of a sudden Gavin was like flying to Washington to be with Oliver! So I just felt like there could’ve more of a lead up! but love this series!!
I really like Chloe writing and I love the representation included in these books. This was however the book I enjoyed the least in the series.
Oliver is a sweetheart and I wished he fell for someone who swept him off his feet and immediately treated him more kindly. The story felt more like an insta love than Enemies-friends-lovers and I had difficulties feeling their connection besides the lust.
Regarding the writing, there were several words that were repeated to an extreme and I wish someone had addressed this in the revision process (e.g: Gingerly appear at least 4 times in the book, 3 of them in subsequent paragraphs and bigotry appear at least 2 times in similar circumstances. In both cases no synonym was used in between the use of those words).
