I cried like 10 times in the last 20% (positive)

I actually did genuinely enjoy Oliver and Gavin's love story. It wasn't necessarily my favourite but I actually quite enjoyed their dynamic. They were genuinely such a funny duo and were definitely the kind of grumpy-sunshine couple I can get behind. Oliver was just a ball of rainbow energy. He was just so sweet and infectious. Gavin was grumpy but not pushed so far that he became an arsehole. I loved their chemistry too, I rooted for them.

I think the reason this book is rated lowest in the series is because it took some time for me to get into it, unlike the others. I also think that there were too many Bergman family sightings. Don't get me wrong, I love the Bergmans but in this book I found myself getting slightly annoyed each time they would pop up. It's nice to know how the other couples have progressed but I would have preferred if it was mentioned and not necessarily shown what happened with each couple. The only Bergman family scene I genuinely enjoyed was when Gavin babysat Linnea. And the Axel-Rooney vow renewal scene because they're my favourite Bergman couple. I never thought I would feel this way because I love the family, after all I wouldn't be going through the entire series if I didn't but I think that I'm kind over their constant meddling and popping up randomly and frequently. A scene or two is enough for me. I found myself skimming through parts with them. I think it's a huge reason Rooney and Axel's story is my favourite: it was 95% Rooney and Axel and 5% Bergmans.

I also found myself having to suspend disbelief a few times and at times things came off as slightly preachy. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can't wait for Viggo and Ziggy's books.

heck! picked this up mega randomly and it did not disappoint!

To anyone who has ever told me to pick up Chloe Liese's Bergman Brothers series - thank you. I completely understand the hype, I finished this book with the biggest smile on my face, just totally head over heels for Oliver & Gavin! I need more!

I'm a new reader to the Bergman world but had no trouble at all jumping right in - this can 100% be read as a standalone, Liese did a fantastic job of introducing the family & their respective partners. Enemies-to-lovers will always be my favorite trope & this ranks as one of the best I've read - the banter between Ollie & Gavin was everything! The dual POVs were really effective, I really understood & empathized with both Ollie & Gavin & the issues they were dealing with - Ollie with anxiety, Gavin with chronic pain & fear over the potential end of his career. As someone who deals with pretty severe anxiety myself, I appreciated that the tougher moments weren't glossed over yet were also handled with care. This brought me to tears more than once, for all of the bickering & fighting these two did there were some truly beautiful (& steamy!) moments here - it's been a while since I've tabbed a romance this much!
SpoilerSeeing how each of them took on the role of caretaker with each other was just so beautiful. Gavin with Ollie on the plane, before their game, after that slur that other player threw at Ollie; Ollie with Gavin after his body gave out - ya'll, I wast just a mess, lol! The love between these two felt so real by the end.
& I have to say, I loved all of the side characters - from Coach Lexie, to the adorable group of seniors Gavin played cards with, to the Galaxy team members, to the entire Bergman clan, everyone really added something to this story that made it that much more special.

A friend recently said that this series is like a warm hug & I couldn't agree more. I can't wait to go back & read these from the beginning, & I'll be eagerly anticipating whoever's story is next! (Please, please, PLEASE be Viggo - pranksters with a heart of gold are my weakness

The Bergman Brothers have destroyed me again. When Oliver showed up distraught at Axel’s cabin at the end of the last book I knew his big, soft heart would do me in when his book came around. Oliver loves big and makes sure his family is always #1. He gives cinnamon roll, golden retriever energy, which is the absolute perfect counter to rigid and cranky Gavin. Gavin is so against letting anyone in and Oliver steamrolls right through that.

Did anyone else picture Ted Lasso’s Roy Kent for Gavin?

i love these books but idk what about them won’t let me give them five stars. they just don’t quite reach that peak level of adoration for me. i love the bergmans so much and the family dynamics are so good. i loved gavin and oliver and their relationship but the ending just didn’t quite hit the all consuming mark for me. overall amazing though. i also need ziggy’s book immediately because i already love her so much!!
as i read: omg a four year time jump??? i need everyone from the past books to have loads of babies and be married rn. okay linnie is the cutest baby literally ever and ollie as an uncle is everything. oliver trying so hard to be nice and he in just not reciprocating in anyway is so sad lol. i love the bergman brothers council and how open they are with each other. okay i love the prank war! okay i need ziggys book rn because i absolutely love her. okay gavin’s career ending is so sad and just as he and oliver were helping each other and were working together. oliver helping gavin when he’s injured is everything.

DID NOT FINISH

It was a sweet story. I love that we got to see Oliver’s fears and flaws. That two different people who shared the love for one sport were the support they needed.

Yes Gavin was very much pictured as Roy Kent as I started this book.
