The whole time I was reading this, I was like this Gavin guy is Roy Kent and then I read the acknowledgements and I was like HAHA KNEW IT!
This was a tender read and I enjoyed it, but for me, not as good and didn’t engage me as much as Chloe’s other Bergman stories. I didn’t love Gavin to begin with and I was kinda like Ollie deserves way better than this ass, but he did grow on me…. but only slightly. I didn’t overly feel convinced by his love for Oliver either. Their love didn’t feel realistic.
Also, I really am not very happy that there was so many American football terminology in what is a TRUE football sport boot. Scrimmaging was used several times and I reject this. No true footballer or football fan would ever call it this.
I always love the family cameos in the Bergman books and it didn’t disappoint in this book! I particularly loved what Willa said to Ollie at the A-frame and that Viggo is such a big romance fan. Bless.

This is basically published Ted Lasso fan fiction and I am HERE FOR IT.
Gavin is Roy.
Oliver is Ted, except instead of the coach, he’s the upstart new player (think Jamie).
And it is so. Freaking. Good.
Oliver is a veritable ball of sunshine. I had almost a permanent smile reading his chapters, but he also has anxiety and panic attacks and is still dealing with the aftereffects of a toxic relationship. The similarities to Ted Lasso are blatant, but there’s also more to him than that. They both follow the same archetypes, but Oliver is his own, unique person.
Gavin is a grump with a heart of gold, who hates that he’s falling for Oliver. Their interactions are absolutely priceless. They drive each other crazy—in every possible way. And their chemistry is next level.
I’m not the biggest fan of “let’s get it out of our systems”, and aspects of that still rang hollow for me, but over all I really enjoyed their dynamics together.
Roy has chronic pain, and we get discussions of how that is effecting him. It dives into the grief that people experience when they have to come to terms with the fact that their life cannot be what it was, because of that pain. I really appreciated the care that was lent to the exploration of that theme, and how the pacing slowed down to accommodate it. Gavin’s character growth was masterfully done, as was Oliver’s. Both characters grow so much in these pages, both separately and as a couple. I adore them, and I adore this book, and I need more true sports romances from Chloe Liese that are heavy on the sports aspect. I am such a sucker for teammates-to-lovers sports romances.

OLIVER BERGMAN!!! That’s it, that’s the review.
I’m kidding, but seriously? I loved Oliver, ray of sunshine, so much.
When Oliver and his grumpy teammate Gavin are named co captains we get the enemies to lovers, forced proximity, age gap, grumpy/sunshine story we all love!!
I loved this story! Grumpy/sunshine always does it for me, and then the one bed trope???! I’m in love. I truly loved seeing Gavin open up to Oliver slowly and getting comfortable with where he is in his professional soccer career.
Oliver was such a joy to read too, he was sunshine and rainbows, but he also had his struggles like we all do. I found both of them really relatable
I laughed so much reading this one.
AND PLEASE seeing the rest of the Bergman family in this one??? Phenomenal. Perfection. Masterpiece. After 4 books I loved that we know these characters so well and we get to see the other couples and where they are later in life. Linnea was my favorite part

Another Bergman book to fall in love with!
Everything For You by Chloe Liese is the fifth book in the Bergman series. I've been looking forward to this after reading the previous book. All the books in the series are considered stand-alone, but I highly recommend them all. There's a lot of familial loyalty in the books. All books have shown so many tender and relatable moments concerning romance and various sensitive topics such as mental health and medical conditions. This current book is no exception.
I love Oliver and Gavin. The dual point of view works for this book, which makes us understand the antagonism between the two characters, mainly on Gavin's part. You can't help but sympathize with Gavin's inner turmoil regarding Oliver, not to mention his upbringing. And I just want to hug sweet, sweet Oliver, who has shown reliable and trustworthy character through and through. The slow burn of their relationship works as well, and all the more sweeter as they gradually bond and give in to their feelings.
Chloe Liese's writing is so expressive to me. She manages to draw out into words the feelings and thoughts that are so common to anyone who has dealt with loss, pain, and heartbreak and yet so hard to express.
I'll definitely read this book (and cry) again! I’m looking forward to the next Bergman book!
Thank you, NetGalley and publisher, for the advance eARC.
