This book had TENSION OH MY GOD. I literally wondered if my book was gonna burst into flames with how much tension there was.
Gavin and Oliver are two kindred souls who managed to find their way to each other. They were so similar yet refused to act like they were. The way they both pined and despised each other was literally so funny. It was written really well too, so it was actually believable. I often feel that when people write rivals to lovers, they either blur the lines two quickly or make it very unbelievable. But Chloe did it right!
I wanted to literally shake Gavin so many times during this book.

“Life is not a romance novel.” “One of my biggest beefs with life.”
This is my first book by Chloe Liese and the first I've read in this series but it won't be the last. Having seen a fellow reader rave about it and knowing that it's an MM romance inspired by TV show Ted Lasso... well I had to read it! And I was not disappointed. Oliver is the sunshine to Gavin's grumpiness and yet when these two are thrown together as co-captains of their soccer(football) team, sparks fly... in the best way. I couldn't put this story down and I cannot wait to go back and start this series from the beginning - I need the Bergman's in my life.

I couldn’t stop imagining Gavin as Roy Kent, and based on the acknowledgements, I was right to do so. If you like grumpy-sunshine, romance novel trope bingo, and a hefty dose of “d’awwwwwww,” you’ll love this.
My only complaint is my frequent complaint with romance novels, which is that all characterization seems to go out the window when they start having sex. It’s like they’re switched out for body doubles or something. It’s a bit jarring.

Sigh... It was perfect.
This Bergman Brothers series is just one hit after the next. I didn't think it could keep up but MAN.
